For the past 32 years we have camped at Lake Bonney in the South Australian River land.
It was always in the hottest months of the year, January or February. Temperatures often get into the 40’s but we loved it. To begin the year at Lake Bonney was always a wonderful start to the year.
There are about 10 other families who joined us and still attend. The kids loved it and couldn’t wait until the next "Barmera" came along.
Now our children come with their children. It’s a delight.
Sadly our water shortage requires that the lake be drained and it’s a sad day for us all.
Lets hope the coming rain will give us all a reprieve.
