I’ve just added an Audio blog.
What an Amazing Day, I spent 6 hours at the American Art Institute of Chicago photographing, reliving memories and just plain enjoying myself. I can’t explain how it makes me feel to see such wonderful works of art. Some of which I have loved since I was a child.
Picasso, Renoir, and most of the grand masters of art, even Norman Rockwell.
Some paintings I photograph in minute detail. I want to know how they painted the folds in the garments, the lace and of course the wonderful color pallet used. I photographed, quilts, furniture and designs on plates. I have a wealth of designs to study.
The man in this photo was explaining the meaning of the painting to his daughter. She seemed genuinely interested and I have decided it’s time to introduce my grandies to the SA art gallery.
So glad you had a good time in Chicago. You have more energy than 10 quilt makers all put together!
