I love all of your work, and I enjoy reading your blog. I’m particularly taken with the corrugated, rusty iron look of the background you’ve used here. Is it a fabric you’ve created yourself? I’d like a few more details, if that’s possible?

Amanda, to be honest it is just a batik fabric, but I illustrated it a little….

Batik? Really? Now I’m even more impressed.
What more can you tell us? Do you have a picture of the fabric before, to compare to the after?
It’s just ordinary batik, I just picked the right piece.
As you can see, the original photo had a wall behind it, however, the batik seemed to fit in well. The plant is heavily embroidered and the
pot is left plain as in the photo….it’s a nice contrast.
