Table Cloth Strips.

Do you remember the post where I mentioned that friend Joan and I visited a town called "Black Duck" in MN…. we got free fabric and I also purchased strips…. these strips cost me a $1 each.…well I saw this idea in a book…. You sew the fabric into strips… almost like very long table runners…sew tassels on the end and tie the strips together with ribbon… The idea came into fruition, and had an airing today at lunch….

Can you tell I’m illustrating aggies… they are a symbol of summer and I think they are my favorite plant… I love the way they burst forth from the gorgeous shape of the bud…. and then suddenly we have a beautiful flower…

Folk Art – Friendship, Fields and Flowers.

This is a quilt I made and designed a few years ago….. I’ve been asked to share it month by month and explain how to complete the quilt. There will be a fee for the pattern, and special online tutoring for those who join the group…. It goes for 12 months and  you learn a lot of different techniques…. machine appliqué, Drapplique, Quilting  and precise piecing.  maybe you could do it as a group…..!!!

Mackinaw Island

This is a quilt I designed  for the Mackinaw Island retreat…. Take a look at the PDF Poster….. The colors in the quilt are actually taken from a Red Geranium and translated into an appliqué and pieced quilt…. The retreat begins with a Field Trip by bus from Grayling Michigan to the Mackinaw Island…. (also know as Mackinac) !!!! it should be a lot of fun.

Oh, What a day…….

As you can tell over the past few days I have been experimenting with the Banner on my blog. I don’t like this one, but I’ll keep persevering. It’s just darn frustrating…..!!! GRRR Today was a day of paperwork and office catchup. Not my most favorite job.One of the most important tasks is to review my contract. It needs to be checked each year and as I’m sending and receiving contracts for 2010 I have to work out just what my fee  structure will be ~ 3 years hence. It’s a bit scary if you dwell on it…. all sorts of things can happen in that span of time….however, I just "Get on with it" There are so many things that need to be dealt with behind the scenes ~ like any other profession… it’s hard to understand unless you are actually working in it. The hardest thing is to prepare for work three years out!!!!!! No, it’s not a matter of hopping on a plane and go teach…. There are hours of prep work to …

There’s a new movement afoot…  it’s called the "Red Shoe Brigade" to join, you need to wear red shoes. 10 year ago I began wearing red shoe…. then it was red glasses, bags etc, etc…. This picture was drawn for me by friends in Alamogordo NM who all turned up in their red shoes….!!!
