New Books

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I had more books to review. Now I’ve added more….
I have dozens of books on the Bayeux tapestry.
2 new ones I got recently have me enthralled.

The Bayeux Tapestry, The life Story of  a Masterpiece. Dr. Carola Hicks.

I bought it in Borders in Adelaide after seeing it in France.

It’s very different to any of the other books I have on the Tapestry, She paints an interesting picture of the perceived application of making the tapestry. Like the tapestry she weaves a wonderful story of the events that surround the tapestry Picture1
however, in this book there are  no whispers of speculation, just interesting facts.

The Needle in the Blood. by Sarah Bower.

I bought it from Amazon, I’ve only read  the first 4 chapters and I can’t put it down. It’s a fictional story about the making of the tapestry using reality as a key.
I love the descriptive way she writes. As I read I can visualize the events she describes in vivid color.
