I mentioned a few weeks ago that I had more books to review. Now I’ve added more….
I have dozens of books on the Bayeux tapestry.
2 new ones I got recently have me enthralled.
The Bayeux Tapestry, The life Story of a Masterpiece. Dr. Carola Hicks.
I bought it in Borders in Adelaide after seeing it in France.
It’s very different to any of the other books I have on the Tapestry, She paints an interesting picture of the perceived application of making the tapestry. Like the tapestry she weaves a wonderful story of the events that surround the tapestry
however, in this book there are no whispers of speculation, just interesting facts.
The Needle in the Blood. by Sarah Bower.
I bought it from Amazon, I’ve only read the first 4 chapters and I can’t put it down. It’s a fictional story about the making of the tapestry using reality as a key.
I love the descriptive way she writes. As I read I can visualize the events she describes in vivid color.
