I made the top ages ago, but have only just got round to quilting it.

I used a suede fabric and I’m happy with the result. The wall and brick fabric was illustrated prior to quiting.

The entire boot was appliqué with a small open satin stitch with mono filament thread.  have used thread and a variety of stitches to illustrate the appliqué. I quilted the wall behind the boots quite densely, but I have left the bricks to stand alone, I think it would spoil the effect if I added other lines to distract from the boots.

am quilting the border with mono filament thread so I don’t loose the beauty of the pattern on the fabric.

oh, that is very, very nice. Did you use any sort of paint or dye on the boots before you applied them?

Hi Caroline….No there is no ink on the boots themselves… I just illustrated with stitching and different colored threads.
