atilda’s quilt has been a long time in the making, I actually purchased the fabric this time last year.
However, the time has come for Tilly to move to her big girl bed and the pile of unfinished blocks sitting on the studio desk needs to be made up into the quilt…
I love this fabric. I’m a fan of vintage… and vintage this surely is…
A series of single letters were joined…. and I added a little drapplique to enhance them and give a little surprise…
I’ve not been too fussy with matching the seams…. I made 17 blocks and added some spacers… and then put them together with the writing sashing…. The borders will be made up of colored tape measures… and the back will be pieced from everything I have left over…
Well, I’ve come to a standstill until later today..
The Iron blew up at 5.00 am this morning.
Yesterday I almost burnt the house down when the toaster turned itself on in the cupboard… and Keith threw our daughters car keys into the rubbish by mistake…
3 things…. so no more…..!!!!!
I love what you did with Matilda’s name – it’s so whimsical and reminds me of something in book illustrations from 100 years ago.
