Bits and pieces

The illustrated Rhino is taking quite a long time to finish….

I decided to add a colored eye….. "That's not a Rhino eye" said my friend Andrew the Vet…

"But I like it" and so do I. It's the only part of the quilt to be colored the rest is monochomatic.

I work an hour or so a day on this project at the moment… it has to fit around my major project "The Bayeux" where I devote 6 hours a day.

I'm using a 05 black pigma pen to illustrate directly on fabric. It will be quilted with smoke monofilament thread on the top of the quilt and cotton on the back.

I'll quilt on all the drawn lines on the Beast, to create texture.

I'm also finishing the texture quilt… I'm using Superior Masterpiece, 50 weight cotton.

I don't want the quilting lines to be even, (I mean the stitching is) but the uneven lines lines gives the quilting a textural effect. The lines are supposed to look like the fields I see from the plane.
