On the whole, ‘lunch’ is an important part of the experience.
Laughter and camaraderie travel behind.
We had dueling cameras, you can tell we all blog.!!!!
There was a rather large water dragon trying to get through the door of the restaurant to find the dragon he saw as a reflection in the glass.
He was getting hot under the collar, his chest turned red as he karate kicked the intruder in his territory….
We were at the Art Gallery in Brisbane and delightful images captured our imagination.
Texture, design. I wish I could take my students to the Gallery sometime. You can learn so much from looking at the images presented.
Friend Carolyn and I have decided on a challenge. We will present each other with a 'detail' or 'texture' design every week for a year.
"The Design is in the detail"
I will do mine on the plane tomorrow….I wonder if we should decide on a size considering it it a weekly project?
Well we'll trial a 6" block and sometimes we'll have to do 12" blocks to balance.
Will we covert each others blocks?, there might have to be flexible rules for this challenge. We might make them up as we go along.
BUT….. there will need to be consistency BUT, we're laughing about it already…!!!
Sunday will be the day, the day we reveal… Carolyn has just said we have to have right up till midnight.!!!!
We'll both set up a separate blog, that links to this one….!!!
It's exciting and fun.
I’m holding my breath! I can’t wait to see!

A texture or design idea each week for a year. What a great challenge. The texture in your photograph of the water dragon a fabulous place to start.
I have been doing a similar thing each week this year, but on my own. It has certainly made me look around my world and to ponder the important events or images each week.
Have fun and enjoy the process. xx
I Have looked at your friend’s design for this week. They are both wonderful. You are both doing so many things already. I marvel that you make the time. Sort of proves the old maxim: If you want something done, find a busy person to do it!
It’s an interesting concept…. Whilst I have always designed… to sit down once a week and think of something that was important during the week and think of the details and how to put it into fabric is challenging.
We’ll see how it goes.
