Tile Quilt

I've tiled the block to see what a quilt would look like…. I love it… I wish I had time to make a whole quilt instead of one block

This is very simple applique. I've used a small open zig zag. 1.3 stitch width and .95 stitch length.

I chose not to applique with a satin stitch as such. I felt it would take away from the dignified appearance of the applique.

There is a little illustration which I executed with a blue Tsukineko pen and then I quilted over the top of it.

I've used two brands of thread.  Masterpiece 50 weight cotton by Superior for the blue and Aurifil 50 weight cotton for the yellow.

Both are 50 weight threads, however, the Aurifil is considerably bulkier than Masterpiece.

I used the motion of the pattern on the fabric to guide my quilting. Of course it is appliqued and quilted at the same time and that's the way I create most of my latest quilts.

I might add, that the applique embeds into the bulk of the quilt when you do it that way.
