One of those days.

Do you ever have one of those days.

I woke with a shock during a terrible dream. But……

The sun cameup brightly, the garden smelt  wonderful and everything was right with the world.

Then we received news  of a terrible tragedy in  our community… a Mother, her two children and another child killed in a road accident locally.

The children were students at my daughters school, the Mum was their secretary. Rachael was distraught, so I thought I would visit and we'd have a cup of coffee.

ZZZZZZZZZ I hear a noise….. Crash…… ZZZZZZZZ I walked out the front door and 8 men were on our property lopping trees.

I could see by their vehicles that they were from the Electricity company and when I asked them why they were doing it without prior notice, I big bear of a man laughed at me and said they didn't have to give us notice. "This is fire prevention" he said. "Don't you care about bush fires"

After 10 minutes or so of extreme damage, I bought out my camera which caused a huge stir. I photographed people, number plates, phone Nos on the side of trucks only to be chased by this big bear man with profanities and threats of bashing me and smashing my camera.

I ran down my drive.

And

As an  amateur news hound I had the photos ready in an instant to send to the company.

Within an hour a boss was around and dismayed at the photographs, so lets see if it goes further…

Then, I've been on a rampage after the grey pigeon who is insisting that he kill my new baby white doves…. the only thing I have to scare him away is the swimming pool leaf lifter… it's 8 ft long and I thresh around in the air to hit him…..so I'm glad you don't have a camera on that.

Now I have to wait till night and lock him in the cage.

I did quilt, for about 5 hours in the wee hours. The quilting on the Rhino is every 1/16th inch, so I'm going to have to quilt the background just as intensively…

Oh dear, maybe it was because I ate hot vindaloo curry for breakfast… but then again, it could have been something in the air today.

That big bloke is really daft taking you on Pam! He will come off second best.
Were all the trees that were trimmed close to power lines? Surely they can’t just lop any tree. I know they do have the right to trim trees if they are likely to touch the lines as a measure to prevent fires but still…taking you on!!! I can just picture you running down the street, camera in hand… LOL!
One the other hand I had heard about the tragedy on the road and am deeply saddened by the senseless loss of life. It is terrible how it touches our lives like that.
You must have had ESP in your dream.

You do lead an exciting life.
I feel so sad for the families who have to deal with the loss of a loved one. I just heard of a 28-year old mother here in Toronto who was run down by an 83 year-old driver who ran a red light. The young mother was pushing her 12-week old son. He survived and has an older sister who are now motherless.

I like to use my camera as an ‘evidence gatherer’ also. It is always with me.

Bit late to trim the trees it AFTER the hot days.
(I wonder of they were trimming trees in the three days leading up to yesterday!)
Surely the time to trim trees in the Adelaide Hills is during winter!
It is so cruel that people died because they wanted to be safe if a fire started, and so sad for the many people are personally affected by the accident.
Thinking of you …… and may today be a better one!
