I'm frustrated, I had to get out of my pj's to come down into the lobby to do the blog….. It's interesting though, as a people watcher I could write a page…..!!!
The Internet in the room just doesn't cut it…..and I can't add a gallery of photos at this time.
24 hours makes a huge difference in the life of a Traveler.
Thank goodness my brain is back to normal, the fog has cleared and I've put in a pretty full day ….. just as well as I leave for Mexico tomorrow… a 6.00 am start.
I spent the day at the Getty Museum today…. many of you will remember my excitement when I visited last year.
The season is different, the light brighter and clearer, the photos are different but the ambiance is stupendous.
When I was 10 years old I haunted our little local library and took out all the books I could on art.
I poured over the art of the Dutch Masters, I got excited at the art of Rembrandt and it occurred to me that here I am 50 years later viewing some of those paintings…
Today I had the opportunity to look over medieval manuscripts, and I learned how sculptures were constructed.
Teaching Quilting Internationally has given me the opportunity to visit the best galleries in the world.
Last year, the inspiration for Rhino X 2 birthed after a visit to the Getty Museum.
Today I found inspiration everywhere, the garden, the architecture, the art work, the writing.
Will this become a quilt?
I took 100's of photos and I wish I could share them with you… another day.
Just wonderful.
The water over the paving stones! Amazing!
Thank you for sharing!

How fortunate are you that the stuff of your childhood dreams has become a part of your adult reality?
I also love the water over the pavers photo. If not a quilt I could see elements of it appearing in a quilt somewhere.
Oooo, I’m jealous. I heard about that exhibit at the Getty. NPR had a nice story on it. Love the water photo.
Finally back on line and I can answer the email.
The Getty was a great experience.
Chris, its a reminder that experiences encountered are not often forgotten… they remain in our subconscious for a long time and just pop out to surprise us a just the right time.
