It's been a great day today… The quilt show has been a success, but I was too busy to take photos. This one is of the set up yesterday.
I came back from dinner, rested on the bed and fell into a sound sleep… I woke two hours later in surprise, "that wasn't what I intended to do"
Talk over dinner turned to "what does quilting mean to you"
One day a Tutor friend I highly respect asked me, "Is quilting what you do or who you are."
I answered instantly… "it's who I am."
She said, "I thought you would say that. I have to say, it's what I do, not who I am…..!!!"
As a quilter, I'm really content and happy in the place I'm at. I love my work, I enjoy meeting students and new people. I'm passionate about sharing my knowledge and I try to "pay it forward" Quilting is my passion.
I visited with 94 year old Doris yesterday who still quilts everyday.
She quilts with a group who are all in their mid 80's "We're a bunch of old girls she said smiling"
I asked her "Doris what do you think quilting has done for you over the years"?
"Well, it made my life" she said smiling, "If I was ever down or depressed I'd turn right to the needle"
I guess that says it all really.
When I grow up I want to be just like Doris.
Me too!

Quilting defines me, energizes me, calms me… I am the soul of creating and quilting in return creats my soul. Therefore, quilting truly IS who I am. Can’t wait til NQA show opens Wednesday night here in Columbus, OH, USA. OOoooooooooooooooooo to see all that eye candy that get new ideas brewing.
Doris is a real insipiration just like you, Pam. Beautiful hands producing beautiful work.
Wendy, thanks, she’s a special lady…
