    Good morning Pam. Welcome to the shad fly. They are pesky little guys and come out in hoards but they don’t bite. June is the month for these guys when you live near water. Go to shadfly.com if you are keen to know more.

    These are mayflies. Scientific family Ephemeroptera, to indicate the short life-span that they have as adults, from a few minutes to a few days depending on species. Their nymphs are aquatic and are generally considered to be indicators of good water quality if they are present.
