When I was a child, my bed was placed right under the window in my bedroom.
3 feet from the window was a grey wood plank fence, however, the sun always hit the window and my bed for a short time in the morning. When I laid in my bed and looked up I could see the cream brick chimney of the house next door and when it was framed against the blue sky, I loved it. Shifting my position just a little changed the perspective…. and my greatest delight was to watch the blackbirds antics as they perched on the chimney.
For 10 years I looked at that chimney and dreamed. I wondered what I would be like when I grew up… it was always a very strong thought in my mind.
I've always loved and drawn blackbirds… in fact they are even on the back of the Rhino Quilt. Somehow they have always represented promise and good things.
This morning I woke to this view, in fact I didn't even have to get out of bed.
The sunlight hit the window at 5.30 and filled the room with orange light.
I think that if you wake to the sun in your face you have smiles for the rest of the day.
As a result of the window in my bedroom as a child I never close the curtains in any room I sleep…. hotel rooms, guest rooms, the bedrooms at home….
Our new house will have shutters but they will always be open in the bedroom.
I should be working, but I've been sitting on the dock watching the sunnies
Taking in the panorama
The frog is a riot!
I liked the frog in the birdhouse and often times the sunlight is what we need.
Pam, Love the panorama, the waterlily, and the dragon fly. But the frog produces a memory for me . I also have a photo of a frog’s head sticking out of our bluebird house. Found that just after moving into our house. I thought it was a snake at first and did not go too close initially. Don’t like snakes too much! Thanks for the great photos and childhood memories.
Watch out for Vampires!!!! Looks like the set of Twilight!!!
Kodi and Tilly loved the frog 🙂
Sounds like Heaven Pam!
Your sunny, cheerful outlook always brightens my day.
Good Morning from Wyoming,
The lily pad took my heart away this morning. The colors are beautiful. The design reminds me of feathers and then I saw the arrow head through the center. But the best part is it reminded me of my childhood, when I’d go into the fields and open milkweed pods to be surprised by the different colors they contained.
Since I discovered your site, I visit every day love having some ‘Pam Jam’ on my toast in the morning.
Savor the blessings of the day,
Charmayne
