I've just laid the pieces down without adhering them. I don't like the color of the skin so I will use the right side of the fabric… I actually thought I needed it lighter and used the back side of the fabric, but it looks insipid…

I always audition like this, it helps a lot..

I work on an applique mat placed on my ironing board. The drawn image remains underneath the teflon mat.

Then I can place the individual pieces on the mat and press them down in order….
