Well I made it to Arkansas despite the security at the airport because of the EXPLOSIVES FOUND: "Obama Calls Bomb Scare a 'Credible' Terror Threat"
Many planes had been diverted in the past few days due to the severe weather disrupting travel throughout the States.
I'm here in Little Rock with a full team of hotel advisors to the new hotel which will be the home of the "School of Textile Art." amongst other things.
The Thai and Vietnamese decorators fly in tomorrow….and we'll meet with the ladies from the local guilds and the managers. It's really exciting to be able to put this together.
This is the view as I landed…. there were wonderful contours in the fields… but I didn't get the camera out quick enough….
I aso found this picture on a poster as I was waiting to get on the plane….
I just love it… I looked at if for ages…
That elephant pic is wonderful. That would make a great quilt.
I had a similar experience with the view from the plane looking over all the grape vines as we came in to land in Mildura. It was such a glorious sight with the criss-cross of neat rows of bright green vines cross-cut by the channels, roads and river.
Unfortunately my camera was out of reach. I’ll have to remedy that next time.
Glad to hear you made it safely.
Chris….. I have seen some of those before and I love them…they are so clever. (the elephants I mean).
The fields, were amazing, but the shot I got sort of missed most of it.
FYI, I don’t know if this is the same artist, but here’s a page w/more painted hand art:
