Today I'm working on the new Janome Horizon.

Its wonderful, I trialed it in Houston and Its the best machine for the genre I work in.

I think the first thing you notice are the huge bank of lights, I can count 5 halogen lights.  There is the luxury of space on this machine…

Sitting in my studio, it's the " sports car of sewing machines"

The 11" bed is going to make it much easier to fit a large quilt into that confined space.

In my personal opinion one of the best things bought out by Janome is this freemotion foot. Based on the mechanics of  a long arm machine, this foot, with the double spring has revolutionised my quilting. It moves smoothly across the fabric instead of bouncing up and down like other freemotion feet.  I need to see my work clearly… so the open toe of this foot is a great advantage…. This foot comes standard with the machine.

I'm drawing with the machine…It was easy to use, the foot glided across the fabric.

Threads are balanced and really well formed.

This project is for a new class…..

The image was taken from this photo of Jamie and Miss Tilly having fun on Christmas day.

Amazing thread drawing Pam. How lucky you are to have the Horizon. I have recently purchased a Janome too but I got the 11000 as I wanted to play with the embroidery too. I’m not as good at drawing as you and need all the help I can get. Haha!
I have also bought the special free motion foot and have found it exceptional for keeping the fabric where I want it.
    Happy sewing Pam.

That thread drawing is so wonderful!
I too, have the Janome Horizon 7700 and I love it. It’s the best machine I’ve owned so far. I just finished up three memory quilts and it stitched and quilted like a dream!
    Happy New Year!

Congrats on your new machine. I’m still in love with my Janome 6600 using that free motion foot. Is the red detail standard or a special “Pam” edition?

Am looking for new Janome, love the one I have however it’s ancient and I have been looking at the 6600P and the Horizon. The Horizon is double in price and wondered how you think the two compare. I’ve read that you like the 6600. When you have a chance to compare, I’d like to know what you think. Thanks, and love your ideas.

  5. That is amazing! How can you do that!

  6. I have the same Horizon, and it is every bit as good as you describe. Mine’s in the shop and I’m in agoney to get it back.Totally getting spoiled by all those nice features.
