The quilt is really coming together now.
All the applique is assembled and everything is set out on the quilt.
I rather like these guys and I'm pleased that they balance the intensiveness of the graffiti.
I've placed the quit illustration and I won't have as many images as I first thought… I need to look at perspective… so those images forward will be larger than those in the background.
I'm going to blend the thread with the background. That means each thread illustration will be different.
Many of you know that I like to quilt applique as if I am drawing… that means I draw around the image with a grey or black thread… but I really like these young men in the front.. I like their simple shapes…so I will applique them in smoke mono filament so you will see the image in it's entirety.
Lets talk about balance.
In the photo I took there were 4 young men on the fence. But three balances well.
There are 3 graffiti panels and the colors in their shirts reflect the colors of the Graffiti.
The writing on the quilt needs to look like a 'tag'… so I'll have to work on that…. I'm no too good at "tags"
Pam,
I can just see you out on the steets with a spray can in hand! I promise to bail you out if you get caught!

This is looking amazing! Can’t wait to see the upcoming stages.
The grandkids might be kind of impressed to have their daring Gran arrested for tagging.
Much better with the skaters in the corner balancing out the color and heaviness of the graffiti. Love it!
