I'm attempting to create small notebook quilts 3" X 4" which will be attached to a large quilt. This is the second in the series…. I'm going to quilt it Kaantha style but I'm not too sure how to attach it to the quilt.
The fabric I've used for the background is linen and I bought it from Ikea for $1 a metre. (of course I bought 20 metres)
It's quite dark… but needs to fit with these colors (image below) I don't know, I might go back to a calico base instead of the mustard.
This is a test piece…. and I think I'll do the lettering in a different manner.
I outlined the image with a very fine black pen…. but I think it would look better if I freehand stitched it.
I used a hoop, it gives a firm base, but I'm so used to sewing without one… I took the piece out and finished it without the hoop.!!!!
What fun, I like the mustard, but I suppose it depends on what other colours you want to add to the piece.
I like the mustard too. I’ve only been to IKEA once and did not get to look at the fabrics too closely. I think I need to go back….
I LOVE it! Perfect:)
Yes, its different….. I like the quality of the fabric…..
