Shattered – Garden window

An analogy of youth and age, this quilt was inspired by the idea  of a shattered window. Looking through it the garden appears in small fragments, distorted and disorientated. The picture although fractured is now richer and even more interesting than the view through the clear pane.

Deluge

In January 2011 the decade long drought broke. Floods inundated Northern Australia and over the next few months, the deluge slowly moved southwards through the flood plains of New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. This work was inspired by the scale of this phenomenon.
