Designing as I travel.

Designing as I travel is the way I come up with ideas for new projects. I have more ideas and drawings than I could ever use…(just like my fabric stash)

I've thought of putting them in a book so others can use them…

I photographed this leaf in the botanic gardens in Nebraska.

These designs were done on a previous trip… but I'm about to integrated them in a new project.

First of all the drawing. It's just a line drawing to get the shape.

Then I draw it in the computer and color it.

I've just isolated the leaves on this one.

When I'm home in the studio, I don't have the time to work in this way, but isolated in my room at night when traveling I am more focused on the design.

Will this be a companion fabric…?

The images remain in my bank of ideas until I'm ready to use them.
