Next Project.

I've been working on 3 projects today.

The note book quilts… this one will depict Paris,  …….  that's where I was in May last year.

The other project that I've been working through for a few days now is the next project for the book and it's really different to the bright Baby Bosham

I started out with two pieces of white linen that was sandwiched.

It was too stark. so I dyed it with tea with the safety pins in and it gave me this effect.

OK, fabric dried, the batting is dyed too and the backing and I have drawn some of the wonderful faces of the Military onto the top piece of fabric.

The standing soldier will be roughly appliqued and illustrated with thread, and the faces will be outlined in black.

I will hand quilt the background and this may be another sample for the book.

I have to consider that this will be made as a project so I can't go too fancy but I want the batting to show roughly around the edges too.

I will share this weeks video diary tomorrow.

Love the effect that the pins made with the tea dye. The Bayeaux version of St Peter and the spirits of the soldiers.

Yes, thanks Wendy, I like it… it was a fun experiment.
