Recapturing Ireland 2

International Quilt Festival of Ireland.

I've had to come down into the lobby of the hotel to get fast internet… but I had so much to do on the computer, I had no choice…. it's a nuisance.

Sneem

Sneem means "a knot" in Irish, today referred to as "The Knot in the Ring" ( of Kerry ).
The town is set at the head of the Sneem estuary between Kenmare and Waterville.
When the town was formed is not clear but there was reference to it on a map from 1756.

We spent a few hours there. I just loved it. The weather was perfect and the day held so many surprises.

Then in a moving ceremony we said fare well to a friend as her ashes were scattered overlooking this stunning valley.

Mike sang a beautiful Irish song and there wasn't a dry eye in the place.

It wasn't the end of the day, but that's about all I can write tonight.
