In this piece, I'm featuring her hands, her face, her walking stick and rosary beads…. the rest will be a painterly effect.
As you can see, her face is single thread. the garment is free-motion zig Zag.
I didn't know if I could do it justice, but if I manage the hands correctly I think I will have achieved the effect I was after. Now, I have a plan for the rest of the quilt.
There is a technique, to prevent it puckering… there is also a few major techniques… but I'm not going to give them away on the blog… you can come visit me in Houston !!!

Gosh Pam this looks so clever! You’ve even captured the emotion of what she’s feeling. I’d love to see you in Houston this year but I’ve decided to forego it because my (one week to go!) 18 year old son will be in the throws of Year 12 final exams. But next year will be a different story – I hope!!!
