The students reward.

A student who took my threadpainting class in Birmingham England last year sent this photo this morning…

I just love it and its so rewarding to see how students progress and interpret the classes.

Go to her website to see how she did it…

"Maybe you remember I took your threadpainting class there last year. I thought you might like to see what I’ve done since, I really love the technique. I made a quilt for a challenge in our church (not a quilting challenge, I’m the only quilter, but an ‘art’ challenge), the theme was ‘Space for God’ and my interpretation was doors, closed, open, etc. I got my mother to take pictures of doors in Mexico (our Dutch doors are all so neat and pretty) and then I threadpainted nine of them. At first I joined all the sections together and put a ribbon over the seams but the quilt went all wobbly on me so I cut it apart again and finished the panels separately and then joined them with beads. I sent it in to the competition at the FoQ, it didn’t win anything but I did get lots of nice comments. I hope you like it."

Herma, Like it I do… I am impressed.

Wonderful. It has so much character with the individual panels.
