Ripped from Reality – Africa continues.

I spent another couple of hours on my lady today…. I finally had some time home in the studio.

Working on her eyes is quite delicate… but I'm happy with them so far. There is still work to do on them. You need to juggle just how much thread to add. It can build to a bulge if you're not careful.

The wrinkles on the left hand side (as we see them) is also a bit of a challenge, particularly over her eye.

I did a base color, then a single stitch light color and a single stitch black thread. I still have to hand stitch the eyebrows in single stitch.

I think I'm going to have a break and try the beads tomorrow.

  1. Pam, thank you for sharing. It is quite interesting to watch your process. I hope to see the finished piece up close and personal, one day. Barbara Douglas
