Ripped from Reality – Africa Finished.

She's finished…. now to put her into the quilt format.

I will applique this quilt onto a vintage Incebetha

I've loved working on this piece. It was a real challenge. Capturing the texture of skin is  difficult.

I also found the neck bracelets difficult.

Half way through… I had a disaster.

I need to iron the piece often… but it hasn't puckered!!!!  I used steam on the back of the quilt… the water went through and left blurred discoloration all through the image… however, It is all covered in thread, but I had nothing to guide me so it was a bit of a challenge to say the least.!!!!!

Wow Pam! What an incredible result. Working through the blurred pattern would not have helped. The attention to detail in the skin tones is amazing. Congratulations.

She is spectacular. You can almost feel the warmth of her skin.
