Quilting, hand quilting and International Womens Day Lecture.

This is one of the best jobs in the world.

This year I travel to USA, Caribbean, France, Ireland, India, Dubai, Italy, Russia, (Thailand I hope)…. gees Louise… it just doesn't get any better.

Despite the anticipated adventures this year I am just as excited to be going to Maleny in Queensland on the 6th March.

I'm going to give a luncheon talk for International Women's Day and I'm absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to do so. I consider it an honor. We're also going to do a class on the following Saturday….

The Adventures of the Amazing Alphabet.…. also known as "Quilting with Character and Charisma.

I think there are one or two places left in class so if you would like to come and have a super day learning a fun technique, contact the Event.

The ladies at the shop are just back from Tokyo so I'm sure they have some amazing stories to share.

I've been working on the Caribbean Quilt, Its three quarters quilted but I have three other things on the go as well so I'm a bit slow.

I'm gaining in confidence on the sweet 16. It came with size 16 needles, I purchased  size 14 needles after a couple of weeks and they made a huge difference, Narelle from Blessingtons sent me some size 12's to try…

Thanks so much I put one in the machine and I think I'm in heaven…. its super.

This is an unusual piece simply because the entire surface of the quilt is appliqued with the exception of the borders… I'm going to quilt green palm leaves into the blue border expanse.

I'm also working on the African lady in the ripped from reality series.

Now I have the hand sewing to do and I keep putting it off. I'm not real good at it.

My Dad made Mum this beautiful polished wood thread box, she had every DMC thread available. So I hope I do it justice.

What a wonder blog you have my dear! (I couldn’t resist letting my “Little Red Riding Hood” silliness come out there). Seriously though I thoroughly enjoyed it and will come back often to see what you are up to. Have a wonderful day!
