creating a pieced quilt from a photograph.

Its still dark.

The quiet of the morning blankets the atmosphere. Its going to be in interesting day we're going into the swamps today.

I didn't have time to finish the blog yesterday, I just ran out of time.

A trip to the Audubon butterfly farm to get photos for the grandies gave me some wonderful photos

This butterfly translates to the quilt.

I took this image and put it into an app called pixl.

You have
to manipulate it to get the effect you need, but I think I might try to
do a quilt similar to this, I would change the colors, but I think the
effect is interesting.

The large black and white spaces leave room
to quilt interesting contours, the grey in the half squares add shading
to give a softer effect.

Its an interesting concept.
