The most exotic Marigold Hotel

Thats where we are.
I’ve retired to my room, listening to Lascia ch’io pianga   by  Handel. I have a little difficulty listening to Indian music, I can’t sing along with the melody some how. I did try… but its not pretty.
It seems fitting after a day of travel, now I have silence, ambience and beautiful music.
I should be working… but somehow I need time to think, I’ll do it early in the morning.

We left home just after dawn and drove through the desert from Ras Al Khaimah to Dubai and we had a few hours to wait for our flight, so breakfast in the club was a fitting start.
We read, I drew, listened to music, ate lunch and then on arrival walked out into the heat and humidity of India.
The flight was just 3 hours from Dubai to New Delhi and we were greeted by a young man who convinced us that India was the best place in the world for Tourists. He was  attentive thoughtful and sweet, I’m not used to that really, I usually have to wrestle my luggage into a taxi and cross my fingers that they take me to the right place without a mishap.
I’m sure he is the brother of the young man in The Most Exotic Marigold Hotel. He convinced me he was with his genuine patter and most positive regard.
I saw at least a hundred National Geographic photo ops on the drive to our hotel… my heart was pounding, but I have another 12 days to flash the camera around.
It all begins today.
A quilting encounter today so all will be revealed later

Oh, I adore those marigolds. Years ago, in Bali, they always set out such beautiful offerings each morning, but I wasn’t an artist then, nor did I take photos. i guess I just need to go back and draw and paint every single one.
Thanks for sharing your trip with us. India is like no other place in the world….
