Trolls, and passports.

Once again I lost 2 hours of blog writing and posting. Grrrr. OK, I guess it’s good practice but the internet is intermittent  as you can imagine and it costs an arm and a leg so sadly I’m now lame and one handed.

This tour has been amazing, unlike other cruises we have been close to land as we navigate the fjords. On other cruises there was the vast vista of ocean, this time we have been close to land most of the time. A little too close it seemed to me sometimes!!!

The delight for me is that the days are so long, I mean the amount of daylight we have. The sun rises at 4.00 and its still a soft mid twilight at midnight.

I gave a lecture last night and got back to the cabin around 10.00 pm, as I opened the door a shaft of sunlight lit the bed. I just burst into a smile.

My family know my passion for light, no curtains in my house.!!!!

I have a day off to wander and this city, Alesund is the first city we have docked at. The other places were small hamlets,  quaint and picturesque.

I didn’t have my camera at breakfast and as we passed into the harbor to dock I saw some amazing old buildings that I need to draw so I’ve made a note to try to capture them as we leave at 3.00 this afternoon.

I need to look for fabric today and I will keep my eye out for patterns and designs and I think I have a meeting with a troll. Miss Tilly wants to be introduced to a troll but I’m not too sure about going back through immigration with him… does he need a passport.?
