An amazing day.

It was hot, in fact very hot, but that didn't deter the visitors to the Texas Quilt Museum for the presentation yesterday.

Quite a few  people  came to La Grange from long distances.  Houston,   Austin and  San Antonio amongst the many.  There were quilters and people interested in the Bayeux Tapestry in the audience.  We almost ran out of room, but I think everyone was eventually seated.  I was thrilled with the result.

My hosts had a wonderful day planned for me prior to the event, but we only managed to accomplish visiting a few places.

In reality, I need a few hours space to prepare for the event ahead.

It was a milestone of great  importance.

If you have the opportunity after or before festival take a trip to La Grange, trust me you will love it.

The museum is inspiring, the quilt and yarn shop, the Quilted skein next door is a feast for the eyes.

Texas courthouse architect James Riely Gordon designed this 1891 Romanesque Revival courthouse. –

The entire building was restored to its historic appearance in a manner that will provide both aesthetic beauty and functional utility for the county. Work began in June 2003 and was completed in March 2005.
