The Raven – Edgar Allen Poe.

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,

Thanks so much to Mary Ellen for the suggestion of the title of the quilt. I don’t think my quilt is  as mysterious as the poem.

Its made from scraps and ‘found’ and ‘collected’ pieces of textile and I’ve had fun collating them all into this small quilt. My computer guy was watching it progress. “What will you call it” he asked. I never know till I’m almost finished I explained because I don’t know just exactly how it will turn out. I’m happy with it. Its been a ‘diversion’ Quilt. Have you ever made one of those?

Its just because you need to quilt, but you can’t do the fancy stuff for one reason or another. Well thats my explanation anyway.

 In a previous post I mentioned where I got the fabric and some of the images.. of course the tree is drawn with pigment ink and stitched in black thread. I’m working hard on honing my skills on the sweet 16 so this entire quilt is quilted on that machine.  The pot is the one I drew the other day. drew it on white fabric with a black pen and then I added the color  with Fabrico pens. Stitched in black it matches the rest of the sewn images.

At first I thought the pot was just a little too busy. However, after I quilted it it fits in quite well and to be quite honest its pretty much a ‘Pam’ Signature.

The orange square on the right was actually a white square, but I needed to balance the orange in the quilt so I just coloured it orange following the pattern in the fabric.

I have a little more quilting to do in the squares and about 3/4 of the red left to do. I’m just outlining the red pattern on the linen.
