Capture and Create – The Giraffe.

On a recent trip to Kenya, I photographed a lot of the wildlife on Safari.

Of course there were lots of Giraffes and I just loved capturing their image.

iPhotoThis guy is the subject for my next two Quilts, I shared one last night and this is the one I have been working on today.

Half way through I thought I would never finish it… I’ve not done a piece  like this before, but once I got the eyes and the white down, it came to life. I need another piece of white on his nose and that will be it.

The background fabric is linen, I both it at Ikea once. It’s already bound on the sides and I bought about 20 meters last $1 a meter.

Most of the other fabric is Kaffe Fassett with the exception of the base fabrics for the ears. I’m undecided on the quilting, but I think I will just do  a black illustrative line.

I hope to quilt it tomorrow.

Pam, I am in awe of you. You are amazing in all you do. I feel honored to have spent two weeks with you in Kenya this past November. The little things I do pale in comparison with your accomplishments. But, I am proud of my stuff anyway. I will keep on going on. You, too. Marian
