The lack of Internet set me back a little yesterday but I did finish Geraldine and  also “Quoth the Raven”

I’ve loved working on this Quilt. It was an  ‘introduction back to the studio’ quilt. The fabrics are  a mixture of  scraps that I’ve collected. The background is furnishing linen. The small squares were samples at Quilt Market by Carolyn Friedlander and the Raven was a print on fabric I picked up at a thrift store. The pot is my own designs as is the quilt o course.

The tree was drawn on with pen and I enhanced it with thread. It reminded me of some of the trees I saw on safari in Kenya.

I quilted it on the sweet 16 and followed the pattern on the fabric, but I decided to had the curly bits as well.

As always, the back of my quilt is as important as the front and I like it as much as the front. I used Osnaburg for the back. The binding is red Cherrywood from my extensive stash.

This little quilt just sat on the machine and I worked on it a bit at a time. It was creative heaven. So indeed this quilt is a true ‘capture and create’ quilt.

I love the sketched effect.

I’ve been building castles for the past week on the Bayeux Quilt and this was a total contrast.
