We’ve been going to Thailand almost every year for the past 38 years. 3 of our children were adopted from Thailand so we have strong emotional connections.

I love the food, the people, the colors, the textures and the culture. Jim and I have been working on a tour to Thailand for a few years now, and trust me,  this will be a tour with a difference.

First of all we will stay at a beautiful  hotel in Bangkok overlooking the Chao Phraya river. Bangkok is a busy city so staying by the river gives us a huge advantage. The Hotel has a river shuttle that runs every 10 minutes and it will shuttle you to the river boat terminal or the MTR. To be honest you can get to most places by river boat, it’s interesting, cool and very efficient.

We will get up early one morning and visit the flower market. It’s the most amazing experience. The fragrance, the colors and the sounds just transport you to another place.

IMG_8528I am going to give some instruction as we travel on how to get the best out of your photographs and then how to add them into your quilts, take the images below for instance. Just fabulous colours, textures and shapes.

In Bangkok, I know just where to visit the young designers who are creating garments for the world market.  I purchase jackets there for as low as $9 and they fit me. The designers are experimenting with color and line and its an absolute adventure seeking them out.

In Chiang Mai, I know where to purchase beautiful textiles old and new. These are some of my purchases. (just a small amount) I use them as decoration in my house, as inspiration and I have a huge collection to be used to upholster my lounge.

Onto the amazing White temple in Chiang Rai and of course lots of markets and good food.

You will enjoy classes, inspiration and an amazing tour.
