Returning home. – where do I go from here?

Moving from one culture to my own is often difficult to come to terms with. Our family is built around sharing and some of our children come from circumstances similar to this small boy. I have to put it all in perspective.

Then again, coming back home after a long time away is full of excitement, happiness, sheer exhaustion,  dealing with problems we have no power over and this time some indecision.

Jet lag is my enemy –  Circadian rhythm – is the 24-hour cycle in the biochemical, physiological and behavioural process of our bodies. In layman’s terms, it means our body clock. I also experience  a whole body melt down, I hurt all over. Its like one of those dreams where you are running and putting all the effort into it but in your dream you go nowhere, you’re  moving in slow motion.

I find it hard to concentrate and sit at the sewing machine and just be clever. I intend for it to happen right away, I need to sit at that machine, But sadly I rarely make it happen right away and to add insult to injury one of the machines has decided to go on strike due to lack of use.

So I concentrated on new  cushions can’t go wrong there  –    Right?

I personally live in a strong visual culture which at times takes it’s toll on the mind. I don’t think I can fit anything more into my head…. then I see something new, something colourful, something inspiring  and I’m back creating again. Its hard to explain, but I’m sure many of you are the same.

Each day it gets better and tomorrow marks my first week home and I will have passed the hump. Despite my ramblings, I am indeed focused on my health and work through it systematically.

That said I share now some of the images I took on our trip to Kenya.

The photos below are of some of the children I met.
