I’m a Quilter, a Mum and a tour leader.

It’s evening and outside I can hear the less than dulcet tones of the male Koala that has made his home in our yard. He sounds like a pig grunting. It’s enough to put any female off.

I’ve now been home from my tour to Thailand, Kenya, Houston, Guatemala for just over 2 weeks and finally everything is falling back in place. It takes a little while and I know I can’t step off a plane after 3 months away and swing into work… but gees I sure try. You would think I would learn, I’ve done it so many times.

I equate it to going to a Buffet.  Your eyes are often bigger than your stomach. You take too much. Well, sometimes my expectations of just what I can do is too much.

As I step off the plane, I have to morph into the home Pam Holland. Wife, Mother, Cleaner, Laundress, Chef and leave the other persona behind. To be honest no one at home understood. In the early days some Bambinos were known to have asked me “Mum what’s for dinner” a few hours after I arrived.!!! and yes, I did shop and cook dinner.

Still, all in all, in the past two weeks, we have a wedding at home under our belt, extensive garden work completed, the Grandies Christmas events and quite a bit of work in the studio.

I’m on track folk. I’ve been doing a lot of preparation and research over the past week. I’ve been studying perception and perspective, fascinating.

And I can’t believe that I’m excited to be traveling again soon. This time its only to Tasmania in February.
