Paducah, day 2

Juggling is what I do.

Juggling time to fit everything I need to do into my day to day schedule on the road.  Yesterday I woke before the birds. It was dark and raining. The TV was still on and CNN was still departing sad news.

I jumped out of bed in excitement and anticipation. I just love sharing my ideas, meeting new people and encouraging everyone to take a small leap out of the box.  On the road, you eat what you have in the fridge if you’re busy. Broccoli, cheese soup, yogurt, coffee and hummus. All pretty healthy, but not your normal form of sustenance for breakfast.

I go over my day, all of the paperwork, supplies in order, timing of class, numbers and presentations. Dressed, makeup on, and ready for the day, I looked at the clock and It was only 6.30 am, Gees I don’t begin until 8.30 am.  So I whipped back into bed, set the alarm for 7.15, and woke to get dressed again and start all over. I figure that’s a good way to do it.

The morning flew by and then it was time for lunch. At Paducah, the food booths are set around a huge portable dining tent.

The smell of meat, onions and other interesting combinations that we don’t encounter at home is tantalizing, there are constant smiles and conversation buzzing in the background but my inner being persuaded me to take a break and so with my green chicken chili lunch I went back to the hotel for quiet music, reflection on the morning and preparation for the afternoon.

I spent half an hour on the floor of the event taking photos as fast at I could… and this is the result.

This quilt is called Perseverance by Mary Olsen of Oregon.
