I’m a few days behind with the blog…. but getting there.
Southern New Mexico.
Lisa and I went out in the high desert photographing the other day. We followed the adventures of Pat Garrett an American Old West lawman, bartender and customs agent who became renowned for killing Billy the Kid.
He was reportedly murdered by Capt W. W. Brazel with some of the participants on our trip reading his trial notes in character. It was fascinating.
The homestead has gone now, the cactus and natural grasses have re-claimed the site but the fences and wire still remain as a footprint to an era.
Having the freedom to stand out there in silence, under the sun, observing the history of this area is wonderful.
I concentrated on capturing the texture and the patterns made.
It was a great honor to share in this experience.
