Working in my Studio.

After months on the road and preparing for tours again in 10 days time, it’s time for a revision on the food one puts into the body. So a list has been written and I’ll send the hubby to the supermarket. I begin the revision well, but sometimes it just lasts a few days… maybe I can do it better this time.

Fabric ideas.

Today I will send some images to be printed on fabric. I send it to the USA, Spoonflower in fact for small prints like this. If I send it to spoonflower from Australia it’s printed in Germany and the quality is not as good. So I opt to print in the USA.

You know one of these days I will buy my own fabric printer… in the mean time I have to send it out.

I like Spoonflower for small intricate prints, and Zazzle for larger prints.

I just decided to look up “the Dominican Republic” that’s where I will travel to and teach with two other super teachers in 10 days time, no doubt I will share on this blog as we go through the process of classes there. Through Craft Tours a group of dedicated artists will join us for workshops… it really doesn’t get any better than that.

I’ve never been there before… and the images I looked at on Mr Google are amazing…. I might even be tempted to put on the swimming costume. !!!!!! Or not.

I’ve had a few hours working on the background quilting of this guy today. You may be able to see the shadowing I’ve added around the edge of the image… it’s pigment ink and I think it gives him more dimension.

Pigment ink is all the dye I ever use. I don’t ever use chemicals on fabric.

When I’ve finished the quilting and the thread painting I’ll add detail to the background quilting similar to this format. This is on another project I’m working on.

Although the day is not over…. that’s my quilting stuff for the day, I’ve sat quietly in the house watching TV on how to renovate a chateau in France as I seed stitched into the quilt above.

It’s been a wind down kind of day and tomorrow I get a little leisure time as I spend time with my Sister at the Adelaide Art Gallery.

Exhale.

I love Dreamscope. And I’ve used Waterlogue. Very fun playing with those.
