Images of Mexico City.

I put on another jacket today. One of a tour escort, so this morning was spent going over the paperwork and checking, checking and double checking the paperwork. I was still tired but forced myself to go out and walk… I’m very familiar with this area of Mexico City and it was wonderful to loose myself in the mysteries of a busy Sunday afternoon. I watched ballet on a big screen, wandered through small markets in the park and just observed the throng of people.

8 ladies in the bus.

I write this in the bus as we drive to the Doha coffee plantation.

8 ladies in the bus.

I’ve been up since 3.30, catching up on paperwork… mainly for the next trip to Mexico. I’m sure that will be another adventure indeed.

Melbourne, the city of street photography.

I love to capture the light, the textures of a place, the spontaneous images of street photography and the urban wildlife if I can. It certainly makes for an all round expose of the place I visited. The images remain for ever.

Lets talk about the Chicken Bus.

Extra seats are added, racks on the roof to carry produce and I saw a goat and trussed sheep up there on one occasion. They whizz around those high mountain roads at break neck speeds. I would love a ride on one but I had a vision of the headlines. “Aussie grandmother meets her demise on a Chicken Bus”

The decorations are very interesting, and they just sparkle, not an ounce of dust on the shiny sides.

It’s almost 3.00 am. At home I could get up and with coffee in hand wend my way across the brick courtyard to the studio. But here in Antigua Guatemala we have just one large room so it’s a bit difficult to do my usual thing of getting up early and working without disturbing husband…

Unusual observations at the Dallas State Fair.

I love the unusual, and we sure found some very interesting and exciting things to share at the fair yesterday. We walked for miles, ate a hamburger and fries and had a wonderful day.

Street photography. – Jaipur.

A small temple in a workshop, men Gathered to chat to people in bright colors on the street, to silk hanging to dry High into the sky. Images to make your heart beat just a little faster.

Block printing in Jaipur.

We see block printing often, and we are also presented with those wonderful woodblocks that seem to find their way to the craft shows we attend. Seeing how they are made was fascinating. There is always a story behind everything we handle and this one is fascinating.
