Wrong Honey with a capital “W”

Jk_knotknick

You know what…. sometimes I just get my nickers in a knot.

This is the most wonderful industry to be in…. but sometimes….    hmmmm.

A comment made to a friend of mine in OZ recently….

"You know, Pam Holland just decides where she wants to go in the world and then rings people for work"

WRONG honey with a capital "W"
I have never applied for a job in my life…….

It just happens, and you can imagine how excited I get
when I get an invitation to teach in different places?

Then again, I take a risk and venture forth, very often it costs more than I earn –
not everyone is prepared to do that.

Sometimes I wonder where all this rubbish comes from…

So as I was talking to Miky  in Israel this evening,
and preparing  the kits for students on the cruise around Britain…..
and for class in Thailand
 I felt darn indignant…

Forgive me for I have

You go right ahead and vent all you want. Sometimes we just gotta do that. I hope you enjoy all your travels and teachings. Not everyone can (or wants) to do that and you are giving of yourself and your expertise. Keep it up and odn’t worry about what other people think (or say.)

There are so few crabby quilters out there, that when one comes along its such a SHOCK!
Just know that for the one inappropriate comment dropped on you, there are thousands of us who often don’t leave comments but are so appreciative of your work and how much you give to this quilting world! I am such a fan of yours. Not only for your amazing artistic talent, but also for the way you conduct your life.
I know you make great sacrifices to leave your family to travel the world and teach us. I hear there is a chance you might be coming to St.George sometime soon, and if the rumor is true I will be first in line to meet you and take your class!

There is just one word for it, Pam. Jealousy. Pure and simple. They want what you have without the work of getting there. Boo on them. Fooy.

  4. Frances B. says:

Better to vent than to stew. Little malignant comments generate so much negativity, and who needs it! Vent, move on, and continue creating/living joyfully.

  5. Jealousy is the root of many evils….some people just are ignorant!
The rest of us feel like we are wherever you go — you are the gift that keeps on giving! Pamie G.

Hi Nedra…. it’s the way it is, the world is made up of interesting people. Some are more short sighted than others. Some have the their foot on the accelerator when their mouth is in gear.

I had to smile when I saw the ORNANE knickers in a knot Pam. I’ve been there & done that too. Funny how some people think success comes free!!!!!! I’m sure there are lots of quilters out there now smiling with me & cheering you on. Jealousy is very sad but it still hurts when used against you. You deserve every thing that is coming your way so make the most of it. Looking forward to the new adventures you have coming up. My day starts at 6.45am EVERY morning with a cup of coffee homemade bread toasted sitting reading your blog & I guess by the thousands of hits next to your name thousands others do so every day too. Thanks so much for all your FREE lessons, humour, & your precious time. Cheers Glenda

  8. You know envy is one of the 7 deadly sins and this comment has envy written all over it. But that doesn’t stop it hitting a nerve. You have every right to be offended but have another look at it. Why would some one say that? They want to be just like you and don’t have your character, talents and style. People like this are not very great in number. There are a lot more of us who love and appreciate all you do.

  9. Kate says:

Pam – could you vent more often? Loved the art work and laughed out loud. You have a way with words.

  10. Glenda says:

OPPS that was meant to be ORANGE not ORNANE!!!!!! Cheers Glenda
