How does ink react on silk and linen?

This project is linen top and cotton back with 100% cotton batting.

The fabrics came from Ikea. You can see the cotton seeds in the batting through the linen, I quite like it. Somehow it has an organic feel…

This is the back and I've quilted shadow images of the birds from the back through to the front of the quilt.

The applique is stitched down with a small zig zag and then illustrative stitching covers the image to fit in with the overall theme of the quilt.

I used the Janome Horizon for this project and it was an absolute dream. The tension is perfect, the stitches are even and I'm rather fussy about the quality of my quilting and I have to say the machine performed superbly.

Very user friendly.
