I walked the streets of Birmingham today.
The attacks on the buildings were evident in all of the streets I walked down. Mac Donalds… phone companies, jewelers, menswear shops, everyone was boarded up…. but open. It was all very moving and I like this photo. It would make a great statement for the background of a quilt.
I visited the Art Gallery,
the Museum
and the Cathedral…
I talked to lots of folk and then had the wonderful Indian meal I had planned for.
I'm smarting a little that the Judges felt my Bayeux Quilt should have been in 'pictorial'.
The definition of 'pictorial' (which I might say is new this year in Birmingham) sponsored by Luana Ruben of eQuilter.com is a picture quilt…. portraits, landscapes… I sort of thought the Bayeux was a bit traditional !!!!
What do you think a pictorial quilt is.?

Pam, have you finished the Bayeaux? I agree it is from a traditional design, but I guess I can also see that it might be considered a pictorial quilt. Frankly it would almost seem to be in a category all its own.

Couldn’t make it to the Festival this year … maybe next year. Thank you for the photos and video, this way I’m not so disappointed not being there! Hope I get to see the Bayeux on another occasion. Nicole – Belgium
