International Quilt Market 2013

Amy Butler Designs.

The time has come the Walrus said.

Time to  look at new fabrics,
Time to study new trends.
Time to consider color schemes and designs.
Friend Lisa, Keith and I managed to walk just half of the hall today and I present to you some of the most delightful things we saw today.
I just love Amy Butlers designs. Specially this fabric that looks like old Linoleum. How clever to  recreate that up. I can’t find any information on the range, I can’t see it on her web site but I will revisit tomorrow to find out the name of it.
In the mean time I give you a feast for your eyes. (friend Di Mill says its a range called Hapi)  Love it
Green Bee.  A delightful booth, superbly decorated and I quite like their simplistic designs. They captured my attention, and thats the aim of a booth at Quilt Market.
I’m not including a lot of the traditional booths  in this blog, you’ve seen them all at your local quilt shop… but I hope to share new, young designers who have taken a leap of faith in us all.
Heather Bailey.  who brings a fresh approach to quilting and crafts.
Leilani Arts. They stock recycled sari fabric. I bought some of this several years ago and I’ve used it a lot in my quilts. You can knit it, like this gorgeous piece or unravel it and use it as an embellishment on or in a quilt.
Rag Rugs, we bought a pattern Easy, Detailed rag rug… and its actually crochet
Loved it. Reckon I could make one in my spare time. Maybe I should teach Grandie Tilly.
The images below are of my favorite quilt (so far)
Ricky and Lucy,  by Nancy Sterrett Martin and Karen Sistek. Owensboro Kentucky
I could stand and look at it for ages. The colors, the delicacy and vibrancy of the feathers, the quilting which bought the feathers to life and the overall impact. Delightful.
This wonderful quilt was made by. Nancy Sterett Martin and Karin Sistek, Kentucky.

Lovely photos Pammy – as always! Amy’s new range is called Hapi. Heather Bailey is an American – not Aussie and you have captured the freshness in her designs beautifully!! I’m so sad I’m not there – I can’t believe Lisa came over early this year & my gorgeous man got to meet her!!!

I love the ” Ricky and Lucy” quilt. Is it a pinted whole cloth quilt?
With all this travel how do you have the energy to see all, and post about it.
I have enjoyed reading of your travels and am so appreciative of you sharing the sights. All candy for the eye and brain.
