A visit with Cheryl Bridgart.

Last week at Guild, our guest speaker was Cheryl Bridgart. I thought you might like to see some of her work.

I found it fascinating that she draws with thread on washed art paper…. so I went home and washed some paper, but I couldn't get it very soft… I think there must be a a bit of a trick to it.

I love the things she does… specially the animal pieces.

Zebra's, birds, large doe eyes, black and white stripes blended with bright flowing colors are her signature whether in her painting or fine art machine embroidery.

Using her sewing machine she creates a fantasy in fabric, the thread delicately laces the images into one of sheer beauty.

She also wears her art, combining fashion with character costumes of a jaunty nature.

During our Festival of Art I hope to get to interview and photograph a segment for the Quilt Show, but in the mean time, enjoy the YouTube presentation.

I enjoyed seeing the work of Cheryl Bridgart, thank you for featuring her. I was amazed by her stitchery, as I struggle to do free-motion quilting.
