Another super day today.
It was a little hard to get out of bed today. They eyes spring open at 4.30 and I decided to rest for another half an hour. My responsibilities tell me I need at least 8 hours of sleep. but that is so difficult to get when so much is going on around you.
Two nights, I’ve had to excuse myself from socializing to go to bed… its a bit sad really, but it pays off for the students. After tomorrow I can kick up the heels and trust me I sure will.
The show opened officially for the full day today and I’m told it was absolutely packed. Around noon, 2 million people descended on Houston for the Astros parade. The town turned Orange, I sort of thought it was for me, the roads and parks turned a bright shade of orange.
Some ladies returned to the hotel from their class and found thousands of people streaming down the street towards the hotel, flanked by the flashing lights of police cars, helicopters overhead and all manner of service providers out on the road. They actually thought it was a terrorist plot.
The images I share today are Art Pictorial.
This is a quilt I enjoyed immensely. I love the subtlety and purity.
Tickled Pink, by Debra Crine, Marco Island, Florida. USA.
I was inspired by a photo by Mark Mitter. The quilt was hand painted with steam set dyes on silk habitai.
I too enjoyed seeing these quilts. Beautiful and so inspiring!
what lovely work –
