I'm still working on the project… I have a few refinements…. but YES, I can create a watercolor in fabric. I need to change the neck and left hand side of the lower face. It began this way.

Slow down, slow down.

I've come to a halt the past couple of days… I have a torn retina. Having had it once before I think it's going to be OK, but I'm taking it easy for a little while. But in saying that … I did just dye some fabric for a project a short time ago. I'll…

A little detective work.

I'm creating a video called "Museums, Music and the Magic of Material" On a visit to the V&A Museum in London I found an amazing quilt made in the 1300's known as the "Tristan Quilt" It's been re-created twice by talented ladies and I'm researching that right now, but in looking for more information  I…

Finished part of the quilt.

I've pretty much finished quilting the bottom of the quilt. Most of the hand stitching is complete… but as I stand back and look at it I often feel I can add more.. The fabric newspaper gives balance and the red wool embroidery adds texture. I love this technique, it's really out of the box…

Back on the Street Work Quilt.

I can finally get back to working on the "Street work" Quilt. It's been a little slow going today because I have to start and stop the quilting. This is part of the foreground of the quilt and unlike the rest … I have illustrated the figures in black thread rather than grey. They are…

Babies and Birthdays

I'm absolutely exhausted. Babies, Birthdays, and a huge family dinner have left me prone on the easy chair. I get caught up in the activities with the grandies… So no sewing today… I had planned to do a woven watercolor but that will have to wait till tomorrow…. and I really want to get back…

The quilt is finished.

I've finished this small Quail quilt. You may wonder why Quail…? well, I think they are funny, and I see them every time I'm in New Mexico. They scurry through the undergrowth with their babies following behind them… their little legs going ninety to the dozen. Once again we are having an event in Alamogordo…

We are Australian.

Good morning, I'm out here in the shed with the HEATER and a sweater on… can you imagine, but it promises to be a beautiful day. As a proud Aussie…. and considering what our country has been through in the past few weeks…I think this might bring a tear to your eye.
